Today's approval by the US Senate is an important moment in the immigration reform debate. The strong 68-32 vote, which was bi-partisan, should give the House of Representatives something to think about. I am very proud of Sen. McCaskill's support for the issue ' and I note the leadership of Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida. Like those two senators, I know that immigrants and immigrant-owned businesses are critical for our nation's - and City's - economy. As the House begins its own work, I call upon our state's delegation to follow the Senate's lead.
