All 13,525 City voters who cast ballots in yesterday’s municipal election deserve our respect for doing their duty.

In addition, the 10,762 of them who voted in favor of issuing $13 million of bonds to provide local match-money for some pressing infrastructure repairs — to the flood wall and important roads — deserve our gratitude.

The other 200,000 or so eligible voters who skipped the election missed an important civic moment.
