The Catholic bishops of Missouri have asked local churches to use their pulpits this weekend to focus attention on the religious issues surrounding stem-cell research.

That’s good news.

I hope that the churchmen’s efforts will be followed by those of physicians lecturing about the medical issues, philosophers talking about the ethical issues, researchers talking about the scientific issues, jurists explaining the legal issues, and economists discussing the economic issues.

Then, after hearing all the issues, Missouri voters can make choices that are fully informed.
