The jury in the lawsuit between Metro and the Cross County Collaborative has reached a verdict. The lawyers report that the Collaborative has prevailed on all counts, including a victory in its counterclaim against Metro.
The Collaborative was the construction group in charge of the Cross County MetroLink extension, which opened last year. Metro fired the Collaborative in 2004 and filed suit against it in St. Louis County Circuit Court.
The allegations made by Metro against the member companies of the Collaborative were serious. As parts of the Collaborative, two good local companies, Kwame Building Group and Jacobs Engineering, had their corporate names dragged through the mud by Metro.
I hope that one consequence of the verdict is a re-evaluation of the professional reputations of all the parties involved.
