Ralcorp Holdings confirmed an agreement today that they plan to remain downtown for at least another decade and will expand here. Their lease was expiring and they had undertaken a regional search for new offices. Today's announcement formalizes an agreement they reached with city development officials recently.
To accommodate some planned growth, the company will add new space in its office at Eighth and Market. That's more good news for the City's central business district (and its restaurants, coffee shops, stores, clubs, dry cleaners, and food trucks) which has seen a nice string of such announcements over the past several years.
To finalize the agreement, Ralcorp has asked the Board of Aldermen for bond financing and some tax breaks on new equipment. They will make substantial improvements to their offices.
