The City of St. Louis has 80,000 street trees and another 30,000 trees in parks. The City spends about $450,000 a year adding new trees or replacing them. Tree planting season here runs from November until April. Tomorrow morning, I will join Alderman Joe Vaccaro and Forestry Commissioner Greg Hayes to plant an Arbor Day tree ' and, because the occasion demands it, read a proclamation. If you have a favorite City tree, tell it something nice tomorrow.
