The Missouri Foundation for Health has given the City an emergency grant of $25,000 to help fight the continuing heat wave. The money will be used to purchase air conditioners and fans, and to assist with utility bills.

The Health Department has urged all City residents to run air conditioners and fans while the weather remains hot. And I remind you to check on your friends and neighbors, particularly those who are old, young, or alone.

If you think that you are suffering from a serious heat-related condition, call 911 immediately. If you need assistance finding a cooler place, some help with your utility bill, or an air conditioner/fan, call the United Way’s Heat Hotline number at 1-800-427-4626.
