Yesterday, a group of prominent St. Louisans led by Tony Thompson and Frankie M. Freeman did something noteworthy. They asked thirty other African American community leaders to make an early endorsement in the April 2006 City school board election.
They said to their peers: “ . . . we feel that leaders like you must step forward and advocate for the selection of strong forward thinking school board candidates who are committed to working with the new Superintendent to continue the school reform efforts.”
They endorsed Darnetta Clinkscale and Jim Buford.
