Yesterday afternoon, I visited with Gordy Viere, CEO of LarsonAllen, a national accounting firm, and Scott Engelbrecht, principal in charge of the St. Louis office. Mr. Viere was visiting St. Louis from the firm’s Minneapolis headquarters to announce that the St. Louis office of LarsonAllen is moving to downtown St. Louis, from Town & Country. The purpose of my visit was to thank Mr. Viere, Mr. Engelbrecht, and all the members of the LarsonAllen firm for their decision to move to the former Union Pacific Building (now the Park Pacific complex) and to welcome them to the City.
The move is the happy culmination of meetings my staff and I had with Scott, Allan Larson of LarsonAllen’s St. Louis office, and Steve Smith, developer of Park Pacific, as Scott, Allan and their partners considered new locations in which to expand their business. The firm expects to grow its St. Louis office to 120 employees in the next several years.
I want to acknowledge and thank Mr. Smith and Mark Mantovani of NSI for their respective roles in helping LarsonAllen make this positive decision for the City and Downtown. Mr. Mantovani, having moved NSI from Westport a couple of years ago, has become one of our most persuasive ambassadors to companies considering a location in the City.
