Every elected official knows a lot about ice. Serving a diverse constituency with finite resources is a lot like ice dancing. That’s probably why Communications Director Gail Compton asked me to report that Steinberg Skating Rink in Forest Park will celebrate its 50th season on Saturday, November 17.
The anniversary celebration will feature free admission for skaters from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. All skaters will be presented with a lapel pin marking the rink’s birthday. Throughout the day there will be figure skating exhibitions, skating races, and . . . . ice dancing.
Steinberg Rink is the largest outdoor rink in the Midwest — and an important part of any St. Louis winter. Get your skates ready.
