The St. Louis Development Corporation has launched its construction mentoring program by successfully placing its first protégé, A.L.L. Construction, with Bob Clark’s Clayco Company. The purpose of the mentoring program is to enable minority owners of construction businesses to learn the skills and gain the experience necessary for growth and success by matching them with large successful established general contracting firms like Clayco.
This concept was first used in St. Louis on the Airport Expansion Program, where it proved to be very successful. SLDC will continue to work with other local general contractors to place additional protégés.
