One of the media staffers sent me a picture of Isaac Hamilton, who has spent time working in Room 200 this year as part of the St. Louis Internship Program. SLIP places at-risk high school students in summer internship positions in professional settings (like my office) to help students develop life and work skills to improve their opportunities and raise their ambitions. SLIP does a good job — and so does Mr. Hamilton.
According to the cut-line on the picture, Mr. Hamilton (sitting on the witness stand) is participating in a mock trial exhibition. By all accounts, he was a star.
I can imagine him as a lawyer or a judge some day. Now, he can, too.
