Doing More With Less

One theme I have repeated to the Cabinet is the need to maintain — or increase — the level of City services at a time when state and federal funding is dropping.

I was just paging through the most recent St. Louis CityView report for the Department of Human Services. Here’s an interesting bit of information: relying on efficiencies in administration, the City’s home-delivered meals program, which spent about the same money year to year, delivered 26 percent more meals to senior citizens in FY 05 than in FY 04.
