Our lobbyists have phoned to tell me that doggy-dining is an important step closer to being legal in the City of St. Louis. A bill including language that will enable the St. Louis Board of Aldermen to allow doggy-dining on outdoor patios has just been passed by both houses of the Missouri General Assembly.

A Board bill to take advantage of the permission has already been introduced by Alderwoman Lyda Krewson. If Lyda’s colleagues act soon, outlawed dogs in the CWE and along Washington Avenue (and in other City nabes) could be law-abiding by the formal beginning of the al fresco dining season.
