Checking the logs of the Business Assistance Center in City Hall is a good way to keep up with the new businesses getting started or expanding in neighborhoods throughout the City. The BAC exists to help these businesses find all the things they need to do business.
By telephone (314 622-4120), they can ask that all the forms be sent to them; by visiting (City Hall, Room 421) they can have a business specialist process those forms with various City departments.
The goal is to make the government side of opening or expanding a business a “one stop” affair. And it usually is.
In the past month, these of the some of the new businesses that stopped by the BAC for help or advice: Cyber World Computers at 4514 Page in the 18th Ward; Rumi Peruvian Stones selling marble and onyx sculpture on Watson Road in the 23rd Ward; The World Café, a coffee shop at 5001 Mardel in the 10th Ward; Gelateria Del Leone on Grand Avenue in the 15th Ward; Mediomics on Highland Park Drive in the 17th Ward; and CKMG Marble and Granite on South Grand in the 25th Ward.
SLDC business development staffers are also working with the dining-out Lombardo family on a possible third restaurant location in downtown St. Louis.
