Each year, I invite the City's children (12 and under) to participate in a Holiday Card contest. "Holiday" because I want the submissions to represent the holiday spirit of our diverse population and be appropriate for all religions (and for no religion). The winning entry (selected by me) will be used as the cover art for my 2011 holiday cards.

There are some rules:

Designs should be no larger than 8.5"x11" and created with crayon, water colors, paints, pencil ink, markers, or colored pencil so the winning drawing can be easily reproduced.

Artwork must be received in the Mayor's Office no later than Wednesday, November 30, 2011, for consideration in the contest. Entrants should include their name, address, phone number, school, grade, and age.

Top entries will be on display in City Hall during the holiday season. I will invite the top 10 finalists, their families, and their teachers to City Hall for a special ceremony.

Send entries to:

Mayor Francis G. Slay, Holiday Card Contest, Room 200, City Hall, 1200 Market Street, St. Louis, MO 63103
