As Marine Week continues, the City of St. Louis will close Northbound Memorial Drive between Market St. and Chestnut St. in downtown St. Louis starting at 9 a.m., Friday, June 24 until midnight, Saturday, June 25.

Due to a high volume of traffic this afternoon the Memorial Drive/Downtown exit ramp from northbound Interstate 55 will also be closed.

Motorists coming to the downtown area tonight and tomorrow are encouraged to use alternative exits. From northbound Interstate 55 motorist are encouraged to use the 7th Street/Park exit or the Truman Parkway exit.

From eastbound Interstate 44 motorist are encouraged to use the Lafayette exit.

Motorists will still be available to access Memorial Drive from the Poplar Street Bridge. The entrance ramp to the Poplar Street Bridge from I-55 will also remain open.

These closures are for facilities related to the Marine events located on the Arch Grounds.

Motorists leaving downtown and accessing Interstate 70 westbound will be detoured onto 4th Street to access the westbound on-ramp to I-70. Motorists accessing Memorial Drive from the Poplar Street Bridge or I-55 will be directed onto Market St from Memorial Drive.

Marine week is scheduled through Sunday in Downtown St. Louis at Ballpark Village, the Gateway Arch and the War Memorial.
