City residents in need of a smoke alarm (i.e., all City residents who don’t already have a working smoke alarm) may call St. Louis Fire Department headquarters at 314-533-3406, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday-Friday, to ask for one.

St. Louis firefighters will be in neighborhoods throughout the City on Sunday, July 13, offering free alarms and installation to residents. The smoke alarm program is funded through a grant from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Since 2006, the St. Louis Fire Department has installed more than 9,000 smoke alarms.
