From the SLPS website:

School Starts Monday, August 16By: Dr. Kelvin Adams, Superintendent August is here and that means the first day of school is quickly approaching. District personnel have been working hard all summer to prepare for the return of students to the classrooms. Our Back To School Fair on July 31st was a huge success, with our biggest turnout ever joining us at Chaifetz Arena for the event. Now, it's time to get ready for learning! Classes resume for all students on Monday, August 16. By now, parents and students should have received a back to school information packet with assigned school information, bus route information and other important items. If you plan on attending school in The St. Louis Public School District this year and have not received a back to school information packet, please contact your school or call our enrollment office at 633-5200.

If you are interested in enrolling your child in a St. Louis Public School for the 2010/11 school year and have not already done so, please visit your neighborhood school to enroll, or contact our enrollment office at 633-5200. We have more than 70 safe and welcoming schools ready to assist you with enrolling your child today. The St. Louis Public School District offers FREE pre-school, FREE transportation, FREE after-school programs, FREE full-day kindergarten, FREE gifted education, a SAFE environment, CERTIFIED TEACHERS, Individualized Instruction, Arts Programs, Dual Enrollment Opportunities for high school students, Advanced Placement Courses, FREE ACT Exams, and much, much more. Surely, we have a school or program to meet your child's needs. For those who don't currently attend SLPS, I encourage you to visit one of our schools and take a second look at what we have to offer. For those who are part of SLPS, I look forward to seeing you in school on Monday, August 16, and everyday this school year.
