There had not been a student in the old Enright School in north St. Louis for more than a decade. The building, a fine example of the City’s stock of historic school structures, sat mouldering for years. Steve and Mike Roberts saw the building and its campus as an opportunity - and spent more than $15 million returning it to life.

Here is a photograph by Gentry W. Trotter showing Mayor Slay at this week’s opening of the spectacular Roberts Place Lofts.

Roberts Place, the lofts and the new homes around the former school building, make up - according to the developer - the biggest new residential development north of Delmar.
