City parks are great places to meet your friends — or your coreligionists.

Tower Grove Park, for example, expects to host several thousand pagans and their pals this weekend to participate in the annual St. Louis Pagan Picnic.

This year will mark the 15th year the pagans, generally polytheists or duotheists, have gathered in the park. The festivities will include a range of interesting vendors and free music.

According to P-D writer Matt Hathaway, whose published report we are brazenly recycling here, organizers also hope to raise money to begin replacing 400 or so trees lost to storms in the park this year. The picnic starts at 10 am on Saturday and Sunday; ends at 7 pm.

If the MayorSlay.com photographer Mike DeFilippo is in town, he’ll probably be in TGP.
