Attorney Jeff Cooper is quoted in an article in The New York Times, talking about his new bid to bring MLS to the St. Louis area in its next round of expansion:

“I read the blogs and hear rumors and I know it’s crazy out there. But I also know that one place M.L.S. should come is St. Louis. We’re going to build a stadium, whether it’s for an M.L.S. team or for a team in another league. We have a W.P.S. team that will share the facility and we’re ready to break ground the minute we hear from M.L.S.”

[Jeff] Cooper’s group will also operate a team in the new women’s league, Women’s Professional Soccer, that is scheduled to begin play in April. He said that his group would probably purchase a franchise in the United Soccer Leagues if it did not succeed in landing a team in M.L.S.
