From the City’s Health Department:
National Preparedness Month is a nationwide effort sponsored by the federal Department of Homeland Security each September to encourage us to prepare for emergencies. More than 600 federal, state, and local agencies - including the St. Louis Department of Health and the St. Louis Public Schools - will offer educational and informational activities to stress the importance of individual preparedness for emergencies.
A key component of the month will introduce local elementary school students to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services’ Ready In 3 program. Participating students will receive a readiness certificate signed by the City’s health commissioner.
The program begins next week. Be prepared.
