Some heat numbers for Monday, August 6. 2007:

  • High temperature recorded today: 97 F
  • Heat-related illnesses reported today: 16

  • Number of cooling centers opened: 35 citywide
  • Number of A-Frame cooling stations deployed: 16 citywide
  • Number of additional window A/C’s donated today: 150 new
  • Hours added to each City pool’s daily operating schedule: 2 more
  • Hours added to each senior center’s daily operating schedule: 6 more
