According to super-correspondent Gail Compton:

On May 7, City parents may begin registering unsuspecting children for free summer camps and recreation programs operated by the Recreation Division.

The camps and programs, which begin on June 11, include arts and crafts, games, fishing, swimming, face and finger painting, grant writing, field trips, dodge ball, kick ball, and some other kids stuff that we couldn’t figure out.

Children will be grouped by age range. Each camp session will last one week. The final camping day will be July 27.

First come; first served. Pre-reservation encouraged.

There’s some fine print in the program descriptions, including a note that all camp sites are subject to change, based on demand.

A brochure is available by calling the Recreation Division at 314 289-5320. All rec programs are offered in cooperation with the St. Louis Disabled Services office.

(Grant writing is really not one of the camp subjects. We just wanted to make sure you read this stuff.)
