After a nationwide competition involving 93 cities, The U.S. Conference of Mayors announced today that the City of St. Louis has the Best Tasting City Water in America.
Ninety-three cities each submitted 16 gallons of city tap water to be judged based on taste, clarity and aroma. After the Conference of Mayors reduced the field to 15, a celebrity panel of judges conducted a blind taste test to narrow the field to five finalists St. Louis; Colorado Springs; Long Beach; Anaheim; and Toledo. At their national meeting in Los Angeles, hundreds of mayors conducted their own taste test of the finalists’ water. This morning, the Conference announced St. Louis water as the winner of the competition.
The City of St. Louis wins a $15,000 prize and bragging rights to Best Tasting City Water in America.
