The irony key was firmly depressed in an editorial in this week’s St. Louis Business Journal about a decision by Aldermanic President Jim Shrewsbury and Comptroller Darlene Green to block (for now, at least) a proposal to extend and modify BJC’s lease of a small portion of City-owned greenspace atop the hospital’s underground parking garage. One excerpt:
The comptroller has been justifiably proud of her work to maintain the city’s bond rating, especially in perilous financial times. One wonders what shooting the region’s largest employer in the foot will do to that rating? Doesn’t look like a pro-business environment from our perspective.
You should read the whole editorial.
