Vaughn P. "Bing" Devine, a double St. Louis Cardinal, died Saturday at BJH. He was 90.

The Cardinals baseball teams that Mr. Devine assembled won three pennants and two World Championships. As the team's GM from 1957-64, and 1967-68, his most famous acquisitions were HOF-ers Bob Gibson (from the Harlem Globetrotters, sort of) and Lou Brock (from the Cubs, in one of baseball's most notorious trades).

Mr. Devine also served as president of the St. Louis Football Cardinals from 1981-1986, and as president of a New York baseball team. He most recently worked as a special adviser to baseball Cardinals GM Walt Jocketty.
