The City of St. Louis today reported two additional deaths related to the current heat wave.

Heat victim # 4 was a 60-year-old man who lived on the 3800 block of Maffitt. He was found on August 13th. No air conditioners or fans were in the house.

Heat victim # 5 was a 76-year-old man who lived on the 7000 block of Eugene. He was found on August 14th. There was no air conditioner, but a fan was in use.

“Check on your family, friends, and neighbors during the hottest part of the day to make sure they are OK,” said Mayor Slay. “If you suspect one of your neighbors might need help, don’t take any chances. Called the United Way hotline on their behalf and we will check on them.”

The City has checked on thousand of residents, purchased and installed more than 300 window air conditioners and 125 fans since the heat wave began.
